Bhutan : The Kingdom Of The Dragon

Booking and Visa
Bhutan booking should reach us 4 weeks in advance with name, permanent address, place of birth, nationality, passport number, date of issue, date of expiry, place of issue, occupation and and 50% of tour cost.
   

Thirty days prior to the commencement of the tour, full payment must be made for confirmed bookings.  After the confirmation of your tour, we will process all the necessary procedures for your visa approval.

Cancellation Policy

There will be 50% cancellation charge for confirmed bookings within two weeks prior to departure.  No refunds thereafter.  No REFUNDS for NO SHOWS OR DELAYED ARRIVALS of the clients for whatsoever reasons.

Tour Operation  

All the programmes are guaranteed.  Departures however, depend on flight and road conditions.  For individuals seat - in - a - coach basis and for groups exclusive arrangements for Treks & Expeditions, a minimum of 03 pax is required.

Risk and Liability

Tomodachi Tours & Travels (P) Ltd. extends its best hand to see to your convenience at all times.  As the TOURISM AUTHORITY OF BHUTAN and The BHUTANESE TOUR OPERATORS strictly conduct the Bhutan programmes, we will not be held responsible for alteration of programmes, sightseeing in restricted areas, nature disruption for transportation (Air or Land), delay in the arrival of the client's vehicles, ill health, accidents or loss of personal belongings.  For such inconveniences, clients will have to bear the extra cost on the spot.  No responsibility for change in the printed programmes and its duration, types of vehicles used, personal belongings, luggage and change of hotels/guesthouses.  Cost does not include any insurance against accidents, injuries, sickness, evacuation (in case of need), trip cancellation.  It is highly recommended to insure covering such incidents at their home country.

Climate (General)

Summer (June, July & August) would be pleasant but wet due to the monsoons.  Winter (December, January & February) will be cold with temperatures dropping below zero the day time would be pleasant with clear blue skies, spring (March, April & May) would be the best time of the year, pleasant weather with plenty of greenery, Autumn (September, October & November) is similar to spring but a bit warmer.  In the valley Nov - March at day time 16 - 18 C on sunny days.  Night time below freezing point.  Mid March to beginning of June 18 -29 C July - Nov 16 - 24 C.

Clothing

The best solution is to wear several layers, such as a cotton shirt, pullover, wool cardigan and jacket, which can be taken off or added as needed.  Conservative sportswear is the appropriate style for a traveler in Bhutan.  Even in summer you will need a sweater or a light jacket in the evening.  Comfortable sports shoes are strongly recommended.  From May to September, cotton clothes are sufficient, plus a woollen sweater or light jacket.  From November to the end of April on the other hand, you will need very warm clothes including long underwear or woollen tights to wear under trousers and a down jacket or coat.

Accommodation

Best available hotels in Paro and Thimphu, other places guest houses and lodge with modest heated rooms & attached bath.

Photography and Cameras

You should plan to bring all your photographic equipment, including film and batteries.  You can find film for prints in Thimphu but rarely for slides.  There is no way to get a camera repaired in Bhutan.  Video cameras are permitted but 16mm movie cameras are not, the latter being considered professional equipment and subject to very high duty.  Taking photographs inside the monasteries & Dzongs are generally not allowed.

Note

If any of the group would like to come overland through India, add another two days for entry and exit via Phuntsholing, the border town.  If transit visas have to be made, at least two weeks advance notice is required for processing.

Service

Hotel accommodation best available on twin sharing basis full board, sightseeing as per itinerary with English speaking guide, entrance fees, all transfers from / to airport and transport overland with non A/C car vehicle, Bhutan Visa.

Mountaineering Expeditions

Although there are many peaks in Bhutan, only three mountain are open to expeditions.  These are Mt. Jichu Drake (6990 m.), Mt. Masakhang (7020 m.), and Gangker Punsum (7446 m.).  So far there have been very few attempts on these peaks and even less successful ones.  The total expedition period for Jichu Drake and Masakhang is thirty on days and thirty eight to forty five days for Gangker Punsum. Please note:  All Expedition within Bhutan has been suspended currently until further notice.
