Hiking Around Kathmandu

Shivapuri Chisapani Nagarkot trekking can be a best choice to trekking if you want to view the exact beauty of nature along the way. This is a Excellent hike from Kathmandu. Very few people trek around Kathmandu valley. It offers a rich insight into the lives, history, culture, landscape, beautiful mountains and religion of its inhabitants. You will walk mostly shivapuri watershed forests and villages during your trekking time. Shivapuri hill (2729m) is the highest point of this trekking. From the top of Shivapuri, can see western mountain Manaslu, Boudha himal, Ganesh himal range, Langtang range, Dorjeelakpa, shisapangma and Gaurishankar. In short we can see more than 60 peaks from here. And other mountains can be seen and another gain of this trekking is to reach Nagarkot which is the most popular point for viewing, terrace, river and beautiful scenery green hill.




Day 01: Drive to Budhanilkantha and of Trek to Shivapuri(2729 m)

Day 02: Trek to Chisapani ( 2194 m)

Day 03: Chisapani to Nagarkot (2175 m)

Day 04: Nagarkot-Changunarayan-Kathmandu

Day 01: Drive to Budhanilkantha and of Trek to Shivapuri(2729 m)
The day begins with a drive to Budhanilkantha, the temple of "The Sleeping Vishnu". This temple features a five meter long idol of the Hindu God Vishnu laying on a body of water. The black stone is not native of the Kathmandu Valley, and was carried over the mountains to this place. From here, the trek begins into the Shivapuri National Park with its great views, waterfalls and flora and fauna. We will spend the night in a guest house.

Day 02: Trek to Chisapani ( 2194 m)
The trek is downhill as we make our way through the Tamang village of Mulkharka. We continue to wind our way through the national park until we reach the village of Chisapani, spending the night in a guest house.

Day 03: Chisapani to Nagarkot (2175 m)
The trek today goes downhill and then up again as we make our way to the village of Nagarkot. The village of Nagarkot is most famous for its incredible views of the mountains. On a clear day, you can even see Mt. Everest. We will spend the night here to watch sunset over the High Himalayas.

Day 04: Nagarkot-Changunarayan
The activity today is optional. We can either trek to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Changu Narayan or take a bus there. The trek is an easy trek along the ridge with some great views of the Kathamandu Valley. We will observe a great sunrise over the Himalayas, and then enjoy Changu Narayan, which is a traditional Newari village where you will see woodcrafters doing their work as well as the oldest temple in the Kathmandu Valley. It is a great place to visit. From here, we return to Kathmandu.
