Kathmandu - Nagarkot Tour, Nagarkot sunrise tour

Kathmandu - Nagarkot Tour

Kathmandu - Nagarkot Tour

This tour begins in the ancient valley of Kathmandu where we get deep insights into Nepal’s rich culture and tragic but otherwise interesting history. As we visit ancient palaces and world famous heritage sites recognized by UNESCO, we stroll through the ancient markets of Kathmandu & see upfront the traditions & customs of a society that dates back over 800 years in time.

Our trip extends to the serene hill resort of Nagarkot where we witness a stunning radiant sunset as the sun drops to hide its glows between the mountains; we spend a night in the lovely resort & get up at the break of dawn with a cupper coffee & then head down to the tower to see close-up a spectacular sunrise as the sparkling rays of the sun can be seen breaking through the mountains in a myriad of maroon pink colors, a scene never to be forgotten.

Nagarkot is known to be an ideal hideaway for honeymooners who seek that special quietness for a special holiday. We also visit medieval Bhaktapur, either on our way to Nagarkot or on our way back. Ancient Bhaktapur is a wonderful display of Nepal’s golden age of the arts with its unique architecture; built by King Anand Malla in the 9th century, this very old city was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1979. It has remained a symbol of conserved heritage till this day.

At the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, you will find many outstanding examples of exquisite sculpture, woodcarving and pagodas dedicated to different gods and goddesses – the Nyatapol & Dattatreya Temples, Golden Gate, the Palace of 55 windows etc. are some extraordinary sites to view in this ancient tragic city that was once upon a time a kingdom to itself. Our tour concludes in the ancient capital of Kathmandu.
